What are the requirements for artwork I want to submit for printing?
The only real artwork requirement is High Resolution. I will print what you send, just keep in mind that a 2" 72 dpi image from the web blown up to 50" will be very pixellated. As I tell all my clients, please send me the artwork straight from the graphic artist, in the format they created it in. AI, CDR, FS, INDD, PS, EPS, PDF, SVG, CPT formats are best, but not required. Or low compression raster formats such as TIF, BMP, RAW, JPG. Most of all I would like the original artwork unconverted from the program it was created in! Do not export it with anti-aliasing turned on, it will create faint lines in you print.
Ideally, but not required, the size of your seamless pattern should be 12"x12" art board/page size, and double check that the pattern matches up on all four sides.

What color inks do you use and Can you print in white?
A word of caution for Hydrographic Film designers, white ink is not available, so consider this when you are applying over your base coat. White base coat is HIGHLY recommended, unless you are doing a essentially black print over a different color base coat. Other than white, I can print 16.9 million colors.
Can you print any picture on your hydrographic film?
I will be glad to print ANY of your art on the hydrographic film, wrap vinyl or wallpaper. I need to know if it's one big picture or a repeating pattern and what is the size of the pattern repeat.
If I order a "square meter" what size will i actually get?
If you need more that 1 square meter (10 SqFt) of Hydrographic Film, increase the quantity of your order and the pattern will be printed continuously in one single roll. (5meter runs max) The size will be 48" wide x 32" long per unit ordered. So for instance, if you order 3 Sq Meters of film the size you would receive is 48" x 96" or 4ft x 8 ft. or 123 cm x 244 cm... I will print as many meters as you wish, but 5 meters per run max.

How do I know what size the pattern will be?
It will be the size you tell me you want it to be! All I need to know is what size item you will be putting your pattern on, and I will size it appropriately. Each meter of film typically measures 32"x48" wide.

WHAT COLOR BASE COAT DO YOU USE FOR YOUR FILMS?
White base coat for any film with color in it. Any appropriate color basecoat for grayscale or black and transparent films. Although an appropriate color for the pattern like yellow under the gold leaf patterns may be an exception to the general rule...

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?
It may take up to two days for the order to be printed, and then shipping via USPS Priority Mail or UPS takes 2 to 3 days. Most orders are generally shipped within 24 hours.
DO YOU SHIP OVERSEAS?
Yes we will ship anywhere! I will contact you about the shipping rates. Keep in mind your Country will charge you duties and taxes on your shipment. This is not money coming back to us, it is just a way for your government to screw you.
DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS?
Due to the inflation crisis, at this time we are not offering discounts due to the rise in cost of film, inks, shipping, etc. To file a complaint you may go to whitehouse.gov
HOW DO I PEEL THE FILM FROM THE BACKING PAPER?
Here is a video of the procedure, at THIS LINK
What size is that particular pattern?
They are the size you tell me to print them! Everything is printed on demand and can be dynamically resized. But usually the patterns are sized appropriately for the object intended use. Like Damascus Steel Patterns are sized for knife blades. Most patterns are sized for Tumblers. Each meter measures 32"x48" wide.
WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD THE WATER BE WHEN DIPPING YOUR FILMS?
The temperature of the water is not a big factor, because the best time to activate is when the initial wrinkling from when you place the film on the water begins to flatten back out. The cooler the water the slower that happens! (which is the case with all films also.) The 90 degree / 60 second rule for timing your activation is for production work that needs repeatability and consistency within the setup parameters. We keep our setup here at 80 degrees.
What is the "Best Practices" when applying the activator?
After you activate liberally with SuperBrew, or any other cool activator, let the ink melt after you have activated for about 10-15 seconds before you dip. Let the object rest after the dip for about 15-20 minutes before you rinse to let all the excess, slow evaporating cool activator, dissipate so the ink will fully integrate or adhere to the base coat.
WHICH SIDE OF THE FILM GOES TO THE WATER?
Custom Film does not pass the “sticky side” test. Both sides are “sticky”. The side that is to the paper (shiny side) is the side that goes to the water. The side with the ink is the “dull” side. it goes up.
WHY DO YOU RECOMMEND USING "TAPE" DAMS on your film?
Use tape dams on all four sides of custom film to control film expansion during the hydration process. Even if you are using tight metal dams on your tank. The ink on custom film is printed in “dots” of ink and if the dots spread apart too much, the finished product will look faded from too much white base coat showing through between the dots.
My Film has become "soft" and pliable, Is it supposed to be that way?
The first and most important instruction is to KEEP THE FILM FROM HUMIDITY. When humidity infiltrates the film it becomes soft and pliable, and more importantly, it becomes practically unusable. It has then essentially been “pre-hydrated" even before you put it on the water.
Roll off enough film for your project and restore the unused portion back inside the plastic sleeve with the Silica Gel packet and seal it if possible.

I've Seen "FADED" Hydrographic stuff before, Does your INk fade?
Nope, this custom hydrographic ink DOES NOT fade, even in strong sunlight! It was formulated to be UV stable.
I want to use the blank film you sell to make my own hydrographic prints, How do I do that?
First, you will need a pigment ink based printer like described on the bottom of the blank film page. Then you will size and print your image in "mirror" and glossy photo settings on that printer. Then, you will lightly apply an even coat of fixative (Activator A) to the print you just made and let it dry for at least 15 minutes before removing the backing paper and taping all four sides of the print. Place the unprinted side on the water. When the initial hydration (wrinkling) starts to subside and the film flattens back out, liberally apply the Activator B to melt the ink back to a liquid state. After 10-15 seconds, pass your "object to be decorated" through the surface of the film at a 30 degree angle and gently shake the excess film away from your object. Let the object rest for 10-15 minutes before thoroughly rinsing the excess PVA film away for the object. When it's completely dry, apply a clear top coat to protect the ink. There are MANY videos of this process on YouTube that go more in depth with this process.
