What are the requirements for artwork I want to submit for printing?
For the best print quality, please send the highest-resolution artwork available. Original artwork files are preferred whenever possible.
Vector formats such as AI, CDR, EPS, PDF, or SVG are ideal. High-resolution raster files such as TIF, BMP, RAW, or JPG can also be used. Avoid small images downloaded from the internet, as they can become pixelated when enlarged for printing.
For seamless repeating patterns, a 12" × 12" artboard is ideal, but not required. Please make sure the pattern repeats correctly on all four sides.

What color inks do you use and Can you print in white?
Our hydrographic film is printed using CMYK color inks. White ink is not printed on the film.
Because hydrographic film is transparent, the base coat becomes part of the finished color. For the most accurate reproduction of the colors shown in our designs, we recommend a white base coat.
Other base coat colors can be used to create different effects, but they may change the appearance of the printed colors.

Can you print any picture on your hydrographic film?
Yes. We can print your artwork, photo, logo, or custom design on hydrographic film, provided the image quality is suitable for printing.
Your design can be printed as a single large image or as a seamless repeating pattern. If you are unsure how your artwork should be set up, send it to us and we can help determine the best layout for your project.

If I order a "square meter" what size will i actually get?
One meter of our hydrographic film measures approximately 48" wide × 32" long.
If you order more than one meter, your film will be printed continuously on one roll whenever possible. For example, 3 meters would measure approximately 48" wide × 96" long (4 ft × 8 ft).
Continuous rolls are available up to 5 meters per roll.

Can you create a custom hydrographic film design for me?
Yes. We can create custom hydrographic film from your artwork, photo, logo, idea, or inspiration. If you don't have print-ready artwork, send us what you have along with a description of what you want. We can work with you to create a design for your project.
Returns or exchanges
Because our hydrographic film is printed to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges and all sales are final.

Are your shipping charges included in the price of the film?
No. Shipping is not included in the price of the film. Shipping within the continental United States is charged at a flat rate based on the size of your order. Current shipping charges are calculated and displayed during checkout.
International customers: Additional duties, taxes, or import fees may be charged by your country and are the customer's responsibility.

How do I know what size the pattern will be?
We can adjust the pattern size to fit your project. Just let us know the approximate size of the item you will be dipping and how large or small you would like the design elements to appear.

WHAT TYPE OF ACTIVATOR DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR CUSTOM HYDROGRAPHIC FILM?
I personally use and recommend Ink Drink by OHW Paint Company with our custom hydrographic film.
Other “cooler” activators such as SuperBrew, Dip Juice, and Mossy Sauce can also work well.
Hydrovator can be used, but it is a “hotter” activator, so care should be taken not to over-activate the film.

WHAT COLOR BASE COAT DO YOU USE FOR YOUR FILMS?
We recommend a white base coat for any hydrographic film containing color. Because hydrographic film is transparent, the base coat affects the final appearance of the printed colors. White provides the most accurate color reproduction.
For grayscale, black, or transparent designs, other appropriate base coat colors can be used to achieve different effects.

Can you recommend someone to hydrodip for me?
Yes! Fractal Camo offers professional hydro dipping services in-house. We have an experienced hydro dipping professional on staff who can handle your project from start to finish.
Contact us with information about the item you would like dipped and the pattern or design you're interested in, and we'll be happy to discuss your project.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY ORDER?
Most orders are printed and ready to ship within 48 hours. Once shipped, delivery typically takes an additional 2–3 business days, depending on your location.

How do I remove the clear backing from the film?
Our new hydrographic film does not use a paper backing. It uses a clear polyester backing that must be removed before placing the film on the water.
Cut the film to the size needed, carefully remove the clear backing, and place the film on the water with the printed side facing up.
